Job Summary
A Finance manager is responsible for the execution of all financial tasks related to the fiscal health of the organization. They provide oversight for the creation of financial reports, billing activities, and timely delivery of financial products and services. The Finance Manager oversees and assists with designing, developing and implementing the most valuable business solutions for the organization. The position takes direction from the CFO on assignments. They work on projects/matters of great complexity and require an ability to review requirements, identify missing or ill-specified aspects, and prepare accurate schedules and estimates.
As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
Manage day to day Financial staff operations
Oversee the timely preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts
Monitors departmental financial details to ensure compliance with regulations applicable to the government contracting industry
Supervises employees who do financial payables, receivables, reporting and budgeting
Reviews financial reports and seeks ways to reduce costs
Support management as required to make financial decisions
Conducts reconciliation of financial statement account balances
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in financial data and analysis
Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional teams
Demonstrated excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and team members
Demonstrated understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization techniques
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in a Business or Finance field highly desired
6+ years of professional experience in data science and analysis
5+ years’ database experience
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Experience with JAMIS or Deltek accounting software
