Financial Systems Manager

Experior Financial Group is a dynamic, mid-sized Managing General Agency (MGA) based in Canada, and operations as an Independent Marketing Organization (IMO) in the USA poised for significant growth and international expansion. We are seeking an experienced and Senior Financial Systems Lead to lead the implementation and optimization of a new enterprise-class finance and accounting information system to support our global operations.


Position Summary:

The Financial Systems Manager will be responsible for spearheading the selection and implementation of an enterprise-class finance and accounting information system, ensuring its alignment with the company's growth objectives and international expansion plans. This role will be crucial in enhancing financial operations, reporting capabilities, and decision-making processes across multiple countries.


Once the new system is operational, this individual will take on a pivotal role in maintaining the system, designing advanced reporting tools, and serving as the in-house expert for business intelligence and data analytics across both financial and operational domains. This role will also involve collaborating with our teams to implement user-friendly data analysis and reporting tools like Snowflake, Microsoft Power BI, or Oracle BI, empowering leaders to independently derive insights from their data.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the selection and implementation of the new multi-country finance and accounting information system, including requirements gathering, soliciting vendor proposals, product selection, system configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Design and implement multi-country general ledger structures, multi-currency capabilities, financial consolidation processes, and management reporting for both country level and corporate headquarters.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting systems that comply with regulatory requirements across all operating regions.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of the new system with existing technologies and processes.
  • Create and implement best practices for system usage, data integrity, data security, access controls with IT, and financial controls with Corporate Finance.
  • Provide training and support to finance team members and other system users across multiple countries.
  • Continuously optimize the system to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulatory changes and InsurTech developments, incorporating them into system capabilities as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional financial system implementation.
  • Experience with specific enterprise finance systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle NetSuite).
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing enterprise-class finance and accounting information systems is required.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing financial systems for companies with multi-country operations is required.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-country general ledgers, multi-currency operations, and financial consolidations.
  • Experience in the insurance industry, preferably within IMOs or similar organizations in Canada or the United States is highly desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements for finance operations in Canada, the US, and major foreign markets.
  • Experience with high-volume transaction processing systems.
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience in system implementation methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of InsurTech and its implications for financial operations.
  • Knowledge of data repositories and business intelligence tools preferred.
  • Experience with process automation and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) in finance preferred.
  • Experience with application of AI Large Language Models and machine learning to financial analysis is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP is preferred
  • Must reside and be authorized to work in Canada.

Pay Range: $120,000.00 CAD - $150,000.00 CAD per year

The compensation range reflects a data-driven estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment. Individual pay may vary based on geographic location, job related skills, knowledge, experience, education etc.
