Job description

This is a remote position.

Freelance Senior AWS Engineer

Fully remote

6 month duration

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Architecture & Design:
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Develop architectural diagrams and documentation for cloud solutions.
Deployment & Automation:
- Automate deployment pipelines using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.
Infrastructure Management:
- Manage and monitor AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and ECS/EKS.
- Optimize cloud costs and ensure resources align with budget constraints.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure cloud environments meet industry-standard security and compliance guidelines.
- Implement robust IAM policies and secure network configurations.
Collaboration & Support:
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate AWS solutions into applications.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshoot issues in cloud environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years as an AWS Engineer or Cloud Architect.
Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional/Associate) or similar.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong proficiency with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda).
- Expertise in infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration systems like Kubernetes (EKS).
Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, Node.js, or other relevant programming languages.
Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex cloud-based issues.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multi-cloud strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of serverless architectures and microservices design.
Proficiency with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
