Details of the role and how it fits into the team

The Group Audit (GA) function is a professional, business focused, proactive risk-based global audit team that operates with transparency, integrity and independence, and assists the Bank’s business and infrastructure areas to identify key control weaknesses.

GA is seeking a Principal Auditor (PA) to join its Market Conduct Remediation audit team to help drive audit delivery / validation and regulatory remediation. You will report directly to the Principal Audit Manager (PAM) – Market Conduct Remediation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the PAM in planning, executing and reporting the results of finding validation and Market Conduct Remediation related risks and controls.
  • Undertake audit assignments, draft validation, and findings for review by audit management, facilitates tracking of findings and validates closure of findings; executes day-to-day operational audit work and contributes to the delivery of audits.
  • Undertakes all aspects of audit / validation fieldwork (including regulatory remediation) in line with the agreed approach including identification of key risks, documentation of process flows and key controls, testing controls are designed and operating effectively and correctly documenting audit / validation work.
  • Partners with other audit teams globally to ensure comprehensive audit validation delivery and regulatory remediation.
  • Proactively develops and maintains professional working relationships; communicates openly with management and internal stakeholders, keeping them informed of potential issues and escalates problems/delays promptly.

Skills

  • Knowledge and experience of Internal Audit, ideally gained from within Financial services particularly Investment Banking products.
  • Experience and knowledge of the operational requirements and regulatory environment of a Global Bank; experience in the coverage of Market Conduct Remediation related risks and controls would be beneficial.
  • Profound knowledge of auditing standards and concepts (i.e., design assessment, audit testing/sampling and operating effectiveness testing); financial, numerical competence and an analytical mindset; the ability to demonstrate the meeting of client needs in a work environment.
  • Excellent team working capabilities and an ability to build strong business and team relationships, proven communication and presentation skills; both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in virtual, global teams in a matrix organisation, transfer knowledge and develop capability of team members.
