About the Job 

Thriveworks, a national mental health organization is currently seeking an RCM and Patient Journey Director. This role will be responsible for directing and administering the operation of Billing, Collections, and Payment Posting . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading process improvement with multiple stakeholders, with a strong focus on revenue improvement and financial counseling for our clients. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • This role will oversee multiple teams and will work with the Head of Revenue Cycle Management to coordinate all Revenue Cycle Management responsibilities, projects, and initiatives. 

  • Monitor daily production of claims, denials, appeals, and identify ways to optimize cash posting and collections and maintain reporting

  • Be an effective change manager that can present data to explain why change is required and then execute the changes with minimal disturbance to ongoing operations

  • Collaborate with Center of Excellence to ensure that the client receives a transparent and pleasant billing experience

  • Maintain and/or create policies and procedures to ensure that staff are trained correctly and have a reliable resource 

  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and payer specific billing requirements

  • Stay informed of industry trends and regulations to ensure that we have competitive RCM processes in place

  • Support vendor relationships to achieve goals and objectives

  • Support the integration of company mergers and acquisitions

  • Target revenue recovery efforts throughout the reporting areas by analyzing problems and presenting solutions.  Present findings that can be shared with staff, leadership, and the external stakeholders. 

  • Provide expectations and metrics to the staff that align with company goals

  • Lead and mentor the growth and development of the RCM staff by providing routine assessments of their performance

  • Drive RCM projects and implementation efforts and ensure timely completion

  • All other duties as assigned to support the improvement of the patient’s billing experience


 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, healthcare administration, or a related field or equivalent experience required

  • 10 + years in relevant healthcare and RCM leadership experience

  • Experience with self-developed systems planning, delivery, deployment, validation, and support

  • Strong data and analytical skills

  • Strong presentation skills and experience presenting and communicating with the executive team

  • Proven project management, transformation experience, and some knowledge of technology platforms 

  • Thorough knowledge of patient financial standards relating to billing, collections and cash posting.

  • Superior critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in Discovery and Development 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience motivating and leading a group of long-tenured employees 

  • Excellent communication, relationship building, time management, and organization skills are necessary 

  • Ability to make quality, independent decisions as well as the ability to collaborate effectively to make decisions with other leaders 

  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple interruptions 

  • Requires up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Federal compliance and OIG initiatives that impact the healthcare industry
