POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Project Manager, Labor Management will report to the Senior Manager, Workforce and productivity, but work closely with operational and senior leaders, and their teams, across Boston Medical Center's academic medical center and community hospitals. The position will play a pivotal role in optimizing workforce efficiency and productivity. It will be responsible for planning, executing, and supporting a wide range of complex labor management projects across project lifecycles. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Facilitate the implementation of labor management tools and technologies; develop and execute comprehensive project plans, monitor project progress, and mitigate risks.
  • Financial and Labor Analysis: Analyze labor and financial data that is used to develop and implement strategic workforce planning.
  • Project Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams by foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mind, excellent communication skills, a strong history of leading complex projects, and a proven ability to facilitate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Project Management:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and develop and implement corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and manage expectations.
  • Labor Management Initiatives:
    • Lead the implementation of labor management tools and technologies to improve workforce efficiency and productivity.
    • Analyze labor data to identify trends and opportunities to enhance operational performance.
    • Develop and implement strategic workforce planning to align labor resources with organizational goals.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline labor processes and reduce operational costs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements.
    • Conduct regular process reviews and audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Project Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, empowering them to achieve project objectives.
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Training and Development:
    • Assist in development and delivery of training programs to educate employees on labor management systems, processes, and best practices.
    • Help create training materials, including manuals, presentations, and job aids.
    • Aide in conducting training sessions and workshops to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Budget Support:
    • Run and analyze financial reports related to the annual labor budget.
    • Develop and present insightful slides to senior leadership, highlighting key trends and variances, and making data-driven recommendations on budget/ resource allocations.
    • Utilize a strong analytical mindset to create and compare cross entity data.
    • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Project Management Experience: 5 years of Project Management experience required.
  • Healthcare Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, motivate others, and provide guidance and support.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all work.
