Job Description

This is a General Ledger and Intercompany Senior Accountant role in a brand-new SSC in the heart of Budapest. In this role, you will oversee preparing and posting accounting entries on a regular basis and deliver a complete and accurate financial statement for in scope entities.  You will also be accountable for the ICO matters for the selected business units, ensuring accuracy and completeness of ICO accounting transactions in accordance with financial procedures. You will be the owner of the daily Intercompany operation according to the agreed priorities and measurements and perform the dedicated operational tasks. The work can be managed fully remotely – with a time-to-time office presence – from any location in Hungary.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Be involved in day-to-day operations in the following process areas:
    • Post entries in the financial statements
    • Create reconciliation as per agreed accounting schedule
    • Ensure smooth closure of the periods
    • Intercompany invoice processing
    • Intercompany recharge calculation
    • Posts Intercompany journal entries on both sides (e.g.: accruals, recharge)
    • Reconcile and report intercompany balances, eliminate differences
    • Works with appropriate stakeholder for Intercompany transactions to resolve issues
    • Monitors pending Intercompany requests
    • Ad hoc queries/report request
  • Manage external audit request/queries
  • Manage balance confirmations
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve issues (incl. process improvements)
  • Be adherent to agreed service levels, policies and procedures as well as internal controls
  • Engage in collaboration with the business and stakeholders to develop a professional relationship
  • Ensure that all process manuals/relevant work instructions are created and updated on a regular basis
  • Deliver ad-hoc queries requested by key stakeholders

Qualifications
  • University or college degree in Finance & Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or experience in Finance & Accounting field
  • IC knowledge with at least 2–3 years in a finance operations role, ideally in SSC
  • Good understanding of the overall intercompany process
  • Experienced user of Excel
  • Experience in SAP R3 and S4/HANA preferred
  • Fluent in English
  • German is an advantage
