What you'll be doing:
JumpCloud is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Services team. In this role, you'll architect and develop mission-critical services that power JumpCloud's foundational infrastructure, including our API Gateway, PKI systems, and workflow orchestration engines.
You'll be responsible for designing and implementing highly available distributed systems that handle authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and notifications at scale. Working with modern technology stacks, you'll help migrate legacy MongoDB clusters to our new Data Platform while ensuring zero downtime and data integrity.
Key technical focus areas include:Designing and implementing service-to-service authentication and authorization frameworksBuilding and maintaining our API Gateway infrastructureDeveloping a robust workflow engine for business process automationCreating reusable libraries and plugins in Go and/or NodeJSModernizing our PKI infrastructureImplementing distributed rate limiting solutionsEngineering a scalable notification serviceWe're looking for:5+ years of professional software engineering experience with distributed systemsDeep expertise in Go and/or Node.jsStrong background in API design and microservices architectureExperience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)Track record of building highly available, fault-tolerant systemsKnowledge of PKI, authentication protocols, and security best practicesExperience with MongoDB/DocDB and database migration strategies#LI-MS1
Where you’ll be working/Location:
JumpCloud is committed to being Remote First, meaning that you are able to work remotely within the country noted in the Job Description.
You must be located in and authorized to work in the country noted in the job description to be considered for this role.
Please note: There is an expectation that our engineers participate in on-call shifts. You will be expected commit to being ready and able to respond during your assigned shift, so that alerts don't go unaddressed.

JumpCloud has teams in 15+ countries around the world and conducts our internal business in English. The interview and any additional screening process will take place primarily in English.
