We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, User Experience I to join our Engineering Loan Enablement team. This role is located in New York, NY, Pittsburgh, PA, Lake Mary, FL, Houston, TX or remote from the USA.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: We are seeking a highly skilled UX Designer to join our Loans Platform team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in user research, interactive design, and visual design, providing guidance and technical expertise for complex user experience activities. This role involves collaborating with product and development teams, creating user personas, and developing various design artifacts to meet project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct user research and testing to gather insights and inform design decisions.
- Create and review documentation of research findings for presentation to product and development teams.
- Develop and modify user personas based on research findings.
- Participate in the creation of concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications.
- Utilize Figma for UX design tasks, demonstrating expertise and proficiency.
- Synthesize information across multiple factors to inform design decisions.
- Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
- Build effective relationships with team members and cross-functional teams.
- Communicate effectively, ensuring understanding and advocating for the user experience across the firm.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, user experience, design, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 7-9 years of experience in UX design, with a focus on user research, interactive design, and visual design.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in Figma and other UX design tools.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to understand and advocate for different perspectives.
- Ability to work independently and exercise discretion under limited supervision.
Additional Information
- This role will receive general instructions on routine work from the UX Director and several product leads.
- The candidate is expected to regularly exercise discretion and execute tasks under limited supervision

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $97,000 and $181,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
