Nurse LPN/Medical Assistant (PC)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant/Nurse LPN to join our person-centered integrated care team at Compass Health Network. This role is essential in establishing and nurturing effective professional relationships with patients, their representatives, and medical staff. You will be responsible for maintaining strict patient confidentiality while supporting the delivery of quality healthcare services within a compassionate environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments by taking histories, vital signs, and documenting information in patient charts.
• Set up exam and treatment rooms with required instruments and supplies.
• Perform clinical procedures such as venipunctures, urinalysis, and EKGs as directed.
• Administer injections and immunizations.
• Provide patient education and instruction.
• Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and supplies.
• Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during minor surgeries and physicals.
• Manage the scheduling of tests and treatments.
• Screen phone calls for appropriate referrals and relay messages accordingly.
• Maintain patient files, records, and other pertinent information.
• Adhere to safety protocols, handling infectious waste properly and following established health regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of unit facilities and equipment.
• Monitor and order medical supplies as needed.
• Participate in required training and maintain professional ethical standards.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to uphold patient confidentiality.
• Familiarity with medical office terminology, procedures, and equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
• Competency in performing clinical procedures with excellent organizational skills.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Practical Nursing certificate is required if applying as a Nurse LPN.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience if a medical assistant certification is not held; experience must be reviewed by the Director of Nursing.
• Preferred background includes two (2) years of medical office experience.
