Job Title: Nurse LPN/RN - Crisis Access Point (PRN)

Job Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated Nurse LPN/RN to join our Crisis Center Stabilization team. This vital role involves delivering both direct and indirect patient care in a psychiatric setting, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of Professional Nursing Practice. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care for individuals in crisis, contributing to our mission of providing quality and compassionate healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing assessments, including health and pain evaluations, vital signs, and daily care for individuals at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
  • Administer medications, which includes medication passes, injections, and overseeing self-administration of prescribed treatments.
  • Effectively manage medication records, including maintaining the MAR and accounting for controlled substances.
  • Educate patients on their physical health and medication management.
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including staff, residents, family members, physicians, and pharmacies to coordinate care.
  • Document and report observable changes in behavior, attitude, and physical condition of patients.
  • Assist in diagnostic and treatment procedures as needed.
  • Provide orientation and training on protocols to new team members.
  • Attend team and leadership meetings as required.
  • Deliver direct care to adults, which may involve managing patients exhibiting agitation.
  • Participate in mandatory overtime as necessary.

Required Skills

  • Strong verbal, written, and nonverbal communication abilities.
  • Robust cognitive, organizational, and emotional skills to navigate stressful situations and meet deadlines.
  • Competence in providing direct patient care to adults.
  • Proficiency in managing medications and coordinating care with various healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

  • A Practical Nursing Certificate or an Associate's/Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
  • A minimum of one year of psychiatric nursing experience; experience in hospital or acute care settings is preferred.
  • Valid licensure/certification as LPN or RN in Missouri is required.
