Position Summary

Intermedia is seeking a highly experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced, agile environment. As an SDET for the HPBX Phoneprov team, you will be responsible for researching and supporting the implementation of new phone models in our Java-based remote configuration software. Additionally, you will design and execute a variety of automated and manual test procedures to ensure the integrity and functionality of our Hosted PBX Phoneprov software before deployment on Intermedia's production network.

Responsibilities


  • Assess new IP phone hardware to develop configuration templates and enhance the provisioning codebase for remote VoIP phone parameter configuration
  • Collaborate with QA and Development teams to identify and implement effective test automation strategies
  • Manage and oversee multiple QA projects with minimal supervision
  • Develop a comprehensive testing strategy by analyzing product design and requirement specifications.
  • Install, configure, deploy, and debug software in a Linux environment
  • Report, document, and track software defects using Atlassian Jira
  • Research, document, and share technical information and processes to relevant stakeholders
  • Apply black-box, white-box, and gray-box testing techniques to ensure the quality and functionality of Voice systems and software


Required Skills


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Java and object-oriented design
  • Scripting skills in Python, Perl, shell, or equivalent
  • Experience with front-end and back-end automation
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SQL and relational databases
  • Demonstrated understanding of the complete software development lifecycle process
  • Professional QA experience in a complex software development environment
  • Hands-on experience testing in Linux and Windows environments
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced environment


Desired Skills


  • Telco/VOIP experience desired
  • Familiarity with SIP protocol desired
