In the Nissan Technical Center in Barcelona, around 500 people add value to the European operations of Nissan, including design of ePowertrain, Battery, Powertrain, Vehicle and Project Management as well as our Regional Purchasing.

Within our Purchasing organization, you can be part of this journey by applying to our vacancy of European Commodity Buyer. In this job, you will be responsible of European operations procurement, deciding best business solutions for our UK production models and our European logistic centers shipping parts all over the world. Barcelona Purchasing office team not only manage have half of all vehicle and powertrain production components, but also our aftersales business excellence hub.

About your job

  • Ensuring our suppliers are committed to achieving our objectives in the areas of QCDDM (Quality, Cost, Delivery Development and Management)

  • Promote participation from all areas of Monozukuri in order to maximise Total Cost Optimisation & Total delivery Cost (TdC).

  • Actively manage sourcing activities from sourcing to SOP (Start of Production) via management of RFQs, key sourcing processes, quotation analysis and negotiations to achieved sourcing KPIs.

  • Coordinate Sourcing activities for European models

  • Actively manage Supplier Cost Optimisation with all Monozukuri Tools and Monozukuri Stakeholders to add optimum price value to achieve our annual cost reduction targets (Impact, Height, TdC).

About you:

  • University degree in engineering, business or equivalent

  • 3+ years’ experience in procurement with proven track record in supplier management

  • 3+ years’ experience in the automotive sector

  • Capacity to develop strategy thinking while managing operational topics

  • Experience working in a multi-cultural and cross-functional team’s environment desired.

  • Strong accurate numerical skills, ability to use them for negotiation

  • Effective communication skill (oral and written)

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Fluent in English and Spanish, French or Japanese is a plus
