JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer
SALARY: £68,000pa to £83,000pa plus the benefits listed below.
LOCATION: Manchester
HOURS: Full-time.
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week on site and 3 days from home. Additionally, you can work from home all 5 days a week between the months of July and September each year.

Do you want to play a crucial role as part of our engineering team, with a dedication to excellent quality and build, leading, maintaining and evolving our quality engineering capabilities whilst adopting industry best practices and standards?
This role sits within our Smarter Journeys Lab, a co-located team within the Colleague Channels Platform. We work together on key initiatives to deliver value at pace by designing services colleagues and customers find useful, intuitive, and engaging to use. As a Quality Engineer within this Lab you'll be working in an Agile project environment, driving transformation by leading the test automation strategy and delivering quality software solutions into production.
You’ll also understand the importance of testing and the Quality Framework within LBG and educate other change disciplines, driving agile adoption in teams as part of the broader engineering community, from cultural aspects of agile to adoption of collaboration tools.
What you’ll need
Experience of owning and embedding Quality Engineering Transformation ideas and conducting training and upskilling sessions for colleagues within a team or practice, develop their skills in software programming and use of different test automation tools.
Experience in creating Feasibility Analysis, analysing automation Quotients and Return of Investment (ROI) articulations and influence and shape enterprise quality roadmaps by running POCs, suggesting tooling improvements and proactively enhancing frameworks for the wider quality community.
Strong experience in automating functional and regression testing using a variety of tools such as Playwright (most preferred) or Selenium/Cypress and experience in API testing, creating API testing framework using tools such as Playwright, Rest Assured and Postman or equivalent.
Experience in developing BDD framework with Cucumber and in writing step definition using Gherkin based features and script refactoring.
Experience working with tooling for DevOps execution of automation tests such as Jenkins, GIT Hub and experience with Agile testing methods & tooling (Scrum, Kanban, Jira & Confluence) within an Agile team.
Experience with programming languages such as Javascript or Typescript or equivalent.
And any experience of these would be useful
Performance Testing using tools such as Performance Centre / Load Runner and Jmeter or equivalent.
Working within container technology such as Docker and Kubernetes within a cloud environment such as OCP, AWS, GCP or Azure.
API micro services and contract testing.
Security testing using tools such as Zap, Burp suite or equivalent.
Disaster recovery testing and OAT.
