Position Description

Under direction performs a variety of accounting duties of intermediate complexity in compliance with existing procedures, compliance requirements, and established methods and systems and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).  Maintains property accounting records and performs physical inventory.   Supports daily operational aspects of accounting and financial reporting, regulatory reporting, cash management, and financial system maintenance.  Receives, sorts, and proofs accounting documents, posts appropriate entries to ledger accounts, prepares reports, financial statements and reconciliations; and performs other accounting and clerical duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities

Performs various accounting transaction in support of the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. Review, reconcile and record daily ATM network transaction settlement.  Communicate with ATM network credit union to ensure all transactions are processed correctly. Review, reconcile and record daily Shared Branching network transaction settlement. Communicate with Shared branch credit union to ensure all transactions are processed correctly. Maintains fixed asset and prepaid sub-ledgers and records monthly depreciation and amortization expenses in accordance with established policies and procedures. Prepares monthly financial statistical reports. Prepares and records end-of-month closing journal entries. Supports investor loan activities, including but not limited to reconciling settlements, post entries to general ledger and monthly reporting to executive management. Reconciles and verifies general ledger accounts daily and prepares accounting entries as needed. Verifies and posts daily journal entries to general ledger and other tracking systems. Reports and remits multi-state unclaimed property reports in accordance with state laws. Performs fixed asset physical inventory. Reconciles bank and other statements. Coordinates and reviews the daily accounting activities required to facilitate complete, accurate and timely financial record keeping and reporting functions. Coordinates and supports the periodic and financial close and reporting activities including but not limited to preparing/reviewing journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, analytics, and financial reports

Performs other duties as assigned, acts as backup in other accounting roles, and prepares reports for Accounting, Finance and Credit Union leadership

Compensation and Job Title is commensurate with experience and may fall under the following pay ranges:

Accountant II  - $61,264 to $91,897 Annually
