Job description

This is a remote position.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses a strong command of Xero, critical thinking skills, and the ability to support diverse accounting and administrative tasks. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and proactive problem-solving.

Expected Work Hours and Timezone

This is a full-time, work-from-home role, aligned with New Zealand hours (starting at 10:00 AM New Zealand Time).

As the Bookkeeper, you will provide excellence by:

  • Perform bookkeeping tasks, including reconciling bank statements and accounts in Xero.

  • File GST returns accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Support payroll processing and assist the New Zealand accountant as needed.

  • Conduct general administrative tasks such as liaising with the Inland Revenue Department and analyzing financial data in spreadsheets.

  • Ensure financial data security and compliance by working within secure systems and protocols.

  • Prepare and provide end-of-day reports on completed tasks, issues encountered, and proactive measures taken.



Requirements

Consider yourself highly qualified if you have:

  • Proficiency in Xero software for bookkeeping and financial tasks

  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to make judgment calls in complex scenarios

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to analyze and present data effectively.

  • Collaborative and proactive work ethic, especially in a remote environment

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting

  • Experience with New Zealand or Australian accounting systems and practices (preferred)

  • Must be based in the Philippines
