eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Design and write high performance code, tests and documentation and set standards for the Identity team. As a member of Identity team, you will work on products related to Identity Services (User On-boarding, Authentication, Authorization, User Management, Identity verification, Secured Data Access), Device Fingerprinting, Account Linking, and ID Federation protocols. Responsible for an entire functional area with in-depth knowledge. Provide guidance, communicates technical risks and trade-offs, and influences decisions. Map business problems to solutions that will be productionalized at eBay. Drive ramp, launch, and observability in production. Champion engineering excellence in best practices as well as advanced concepts like security, scalability, performance, and availability. Identify gaps and issues across systems and functional areas, propose solutions, and drive resolution. Take project features and scopes them into sub-tasks for ease of execution by others and remove potential issues before they become blockers. Create feature design and test plans. Telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus four years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus six years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1.           System/Architecture Design: Ability to design highly scalable systems in low latency fashion (4 years)

2.           Distributed systems: Solid and proven expertise to implement large distributed systems where functionality is built using micro services, event processors and batches (4 years)

3.           Java: Ability to use advanced features of Java including threads and design using Object Oriented concepts and design patterns (4 years)

4.           JavaScript, NodeJS, React: Experience in developing front end applications (2 years)

5.           Database: Well versed with trades-offs between various databases and experience in relational & no-sql database (KV store, document database) (4 years)

6.           Spark: Very hands-on experience in running spark queries in optimized fashion to scale over large data sets using spark utilities and functions for analytical purposes. (3 years)

7.           Automation testing tools: Experience in WebdriverIO, Selenium WebDriver or PERCY (3 years)

8.           Experience in Security, Mobile, Load & Performance testing & Site Speed optimization (3 years)

9.           Experience in accessibility testing tools such as VoiceOver, Talkback & JAWS (3 years)

10.        Build & CI Tools including Maven and Jenkins (4 years)

11.        Expertise in Rate Limiters & BOT mitigation tools such as Radware (3 years)

12.        Linux: Experienced to write shell scripts to automate small tasks like text parsing of logs (3 years)

13.        Experience in Agile software development lifecycle (4 years)

Salary: $172,931.00-234,850.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
