eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Design, develop and deploy complex, multi-tier distributed software applications. Build performance efficient, highly scalable, configurable, and available software applications and systems. Define, and implement sophisticated, multi-tier distributed software systems throughout all phases of the software development life cycle. Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues in a very time critical environment. Collaborate with other engineers, managers, product management, quality analysts, and operations teams to develop innovative technical solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, availability, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to software development goals and principles. Identify project risks, quantify risk/benefit relationships, and provide alternative solutions as well as risk mitigation. Test high throughput back-end software systems and features, lead code review sessions. Identify and make recommendations to reduce software project risks. Develop and improve new and existing product initiatives and be a driver in the definition of product direction. Telecommuting permitted – work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Programming /Scripting languages: Java, ReactJS, Shell(Bash), Object Oriented languages, XML, JSON, HTML, and CSS
2. Web Frameworks: Springboot, Apache Springboot, Apache Kafka, and Hibernate
3. Database Management servers: RDBMS Oracle and MySQL, and MongoDB
4. Tools: IntelliJ, MS Office, Git, SVN, Eclipse, and Jira
5. Development Methodologies: Agile development
Base salary: $157,000.00-205,700.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
