What you will do

The primary role of the Aftermarket Parts Sales Manager for Key Verticals will be to profitably grow and maintain accounts in key verticals of the North America Commercial HVAC market such as Data Centers, Government and Mechanical Contractors. You will work in close partnership with key customers to address aftermarket parts needs throughout the lifecycle of their Water Cooled and Air Cooled Chillers, minimizing downtime and ensuring the continuity of their critical operations. To succeed, you will develop and utilize a strategic account management approach and will collaboratively work with other internal functions such as Global Parts Growth, Product Management, Parts Engineering, Equipment Sales, Corporate Strategic Accounts, Sales Enablement, Customer Service and Fulfillment Operations.

How you will do it

  • Understand key vertical markets, trends, regulations, players and current business relationships with JCI as a whole to develop and deliver short and long-term strategic objectives and targets for growth revenue and profitability

  • Develop and execute effective commercial / go-to-market strategies and recommend adjustments to the plan when necessary in alignment with Global Parts Growth strategy

  • Develop and execute strategic account management approach and maintain long-term relationships to maximize opportunities, secure new business and ensure customer satisfaction

  • Drive forecasting accuracy and proactive sales initiatives to meet our financial commitments

  • Conduct regular business reviews to examine account performance; lead initiatives that drive+ improvement and proactive resolution of customer issues. 

  • Drive cash flow through effective execution of payment terms, proactive billing and collections.

  • Manage the team members in the business development, sale, delivery, and performance assurance to new and existing customers

  • Establish plan for account assignment among team members to optimize workload and resource deployment.

  • Develop effective leaders and a high-performance team utilizing available training and development tools; builds a culture of performance management and individual accountability.

  • Actively work with other internal functions such as Global Parts Growth, Product Management, Parts Engineering, Equipment Sales, Corporate Strategic Accounts, Sales Enablement, Customer Service and Fulfillment Operations to meet and exceed customer expectations and business targets.

  • Adhere to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards, demonstrating a high degree of safety awareness for all Johnson Controls employees.

  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local legal requirements and operate with the highest business ethics.

What we look for:

Required

  • BA degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or equivalent

  • Eight years of management experience in the commercial equipment industry

  • Proven track record of success working in a matrix organization, dealing with conflict resolution and change management, achieving win-win results

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated background dealing with customer service issues

  • Time management, ability to prioritize effectively based on financial impact to the desired business goals

  • Exposure to sales excellence best practices

  • Able to travel a minimum of 50%

Preferred

  • MBA

  • Previous experience managing Strategic Accounts in the Data Center vertical

  • Management experience in the HVAC/buildings controls industry
