Job Title: Senior Product Manager - NAF Internal Apps

Salary:  $150K - $170K/yr d.o.e.

Location: Remote OK - If living within 31 miles of Tustin, CA or Austin, TX will need to be able to work a hybrid schedule

Overview:

This role is the primary go-to for the products they lead, focusing on internal-facing products and tools that drive efficiency, compliance, and business continuity for HR, Accounting and Finance, and Secondary Markets. Senior Product Managers in this domain ensure their products meet the needs of internal users while aligning with organizational goals and operational requirements. They own the strategic vision and direction for their product portfolio, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation; conducting internal user research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, timelines, and resources for product delivery. They work cross-functionally to ensure product success and constantly measure and interpret the impact of their efforts on internal processes and outcomes.

This role requires a solid understanding of the unique needs of internal enterprise functions, the ability to manage several initiatives simultaneously, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the expert on your product areas. Understand company goals, internal user needs, and business opportunities to determine how your products can support HR, Accounting and Finance, Secondary Markets, and other internal functions.
  • Own the vision and strategy for your assigned product(s) by aligning product capabilities with internal operational objectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across HR, Accounting, Finance, and Secondary Markets to identify process pain points and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Work with Product Directors, Engineering leaders, architects, and key business stakeholders to set product vision and direction and drive and manage expectations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and other technical teams to design and deliver backend services, tools, and integrations that enable streamlined operations for internal teams.
  • Maintain the health and reliability of your products by working with Engineering and QA teams to address any defects, ensure scalability, and deliver high-performing solutions.
  • Create and maintain the product roadmap, balancing priorities such as compliance deadlines, operational impact, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Partner with key Business leaders to ensure tools meet current and future needs, including process automation, reporting enhancements, and system integrations.
  • Define and track success metrics and KPIs to demonstrate the impact of your products on internal efficiencies and goals.
  • Work with Product Owners and Engineers to refine features, write detailed requirements, and prepare user stories that reflect internal users' needs.
  • Provide clear communication to stakeholders about roadmap progress, timelines, and any risks or delays.
  • Drive initiatives to improve documentation, training, and onboarding processes for internal users, ensuring tools and systems are easy to adopt and use effectively.
  • Collaborate with scrum masters (and other teams’ scrum masters + Product teams) to ensure team readiness and clear sprint planning, story prioritization, and sprint execution.
  • Stay informed on best practices, tools, and trends in enterprise HRIS, accounting systems, and financial operations.
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement for internal systems and lead efforts to implement enhancements.
  • Step outside your comfort zone to learn new tools, processes, and skill sets that enhance product delivery in non-revenue generating domains.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Manager with a focus on internal enterprise products or tools.
  • Experience managing HRIS, accounting systems, financial tools, or secondary market platforms preferred.
  • Strong understanding of APIs and backend service development or data governance basics, particularly as it relates to integration of internal systems.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements in HR, finance, and secondary markets, with a strong ability to prioritize features and updates based on regulatory needs.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and strategic details effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in mortgage, financial services, or other regulated industries is strongly preferred.
