OnBuy are an online marketplace who are on a mission of being the best choice for every customer, everywhere.

We have recently been named one of the UK's fastest-growing tech companies in Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 for the third year in a row (as well as 'Fastest-Growing Tech Business in the South West').

All achievements we are very proud of, but we don't let that go to our head. We are all laser focused on our mission and understand the huge joint effort ahead of us needed to succeed.

Working at OnBuy:

We are a team of driven and motivated people who thrive when working at pace. To succeed at OnBuy you need to take charge and fully own your responsibilities, rolling your sleeves up when needed to 'get it done'. Working at OnBuy you are surrounded by so much opportunity, but you must possess the ability to stay focused and prioritise ruthlessly. Most importantly, you will thrive in an ever-changing environment as we are constantly evolving.

At OnBuy, you're not just a number or another cog in a machine. We are creating something really special, and you have the opportunity to affect meaningful change and have your voice heard.

We are a close team, who have the opportunity to learn and grow as OnBuy evolves. We work in a flexible way, meaning we can prioritise our health and relationships, but when we are working, we graft.

Job overview:

As the Head of Product Delivery, your primary responsibility will be to lead our Product team, overseeing the end-to-end delivery of our product roadmap. You will have a deep understanding of delivery processes, execution excellence, and people management to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes that align with the OnBuy’s strategic goals.

As the Head of Product Delivery, you will work cross-functionally to plan, scope, and execute product initiatives. You will be responsible for translating the product vision and roadmap into actionable plans, setting clear timescales, and managing stakeholder expectations throughout the product lifecycle. Your mission is to drive the success of the product delivery pipeline through efficient processes, clear communication, and an unwavering focus on quality and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing Product team.
  • Develop team members’ capabilities in project management, scope control, product design  and delivery excellence.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability across the Product function.

Roadmap and Pipeline Management

  • Translate product roadmap priorities into actionable project plans and timelines.
  • Manage and optimise the product pipeline, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities.
  • Partner with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure roadmap initiatives are clearly defined, scoped, documented, and prioritised for efficient delivery.

Process Optimisation

  • Establish, implement, and refine delivery processes to increase team efficiency, consistency, output and transparency.
  • Ensure robust governance over delivery processes, including clear sign-off procedures, detailed specifications, and scope control.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, while maintaining a continuous improvement approach to team workflows.

Execution and Delivery Excellence

  • Own and manage delivery execution to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
  • Track progress against timescales, identify risks, and proactively address potential delivery obstacles.
  • Regularly communicate project status, potential risks, and updates to stakeholders and leadership.

Stakeholder and Cross-functional Alignment

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align on project priorities, timescales, and resource requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all delivery-related matters, providing clarity on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Work closely with Development and DevOps teams to ensure seamless handover from planning into active delivery.

Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Product function to track and report progress and performance.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms and retrospectives to learn from each delivery cycle, iteratively enhancing processes and outcomes.
  • Maintain a focus on cost-effectiveness and quality in every stage of the delivery pipeline.

Requirements

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within scope, and with measurable outcomes.
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Delivery, Project Management, or similar roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong experience leading, developing, and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Deep knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and other project management methodologies, with the ability to adapt approaches to fit organisational needs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to translate high-level strategic goals into actionable and measurable plans.
  • Highly skilled at identifying issues and finding effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
