We are looking for an Engineer - Dynamics Analyst to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Your Responsibilities:

The Dynamics Analyst focuses in the area of Structural Dynamic, Vibration, Acoustic, Shock, and Seismic design & analysis.  You will perform design & analysis of new and existing critical-function electro-mechanical systems to assess performance and optimize safety, quality, and cost effectiveness at our integrated engineering & manufacturing facility, EMD (Electro-Mechanical). In addition, you will conduct experiments including modal, vibration, shock, and accelerance testing, collect and analyze dynamic response data, interpret results, and write analysis and test reports.

Your Challenge:

  • Performs structural dynamic design and analysis of complex electro-mechanical systems and components, including mechanical design, simulation, and testing.  Works collaboratively within technical and project teams to achieve effective design solutions for structural dynamic performance of rotating equipment and components.
  • Develops detailed test plans and supports dynamic, acoustic and shock testing of systems, assemblies, and components, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Capable of evaluating design simulation and testing, and reconciling differences between predicted values and actual results.
  • Composes quality technical documentation, publications, and written communications including final design reports, test reports, engineering calculations of record, technical letters, presentations, and customer deliverables.
  • Supports the design of new equipment and machinery as conceived to support program and project needs. Provides technical assistance in building, installing, and testing new equipment and test facilities to ensure production capabilities.
  • Provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses.  Contributes to technical design review activities.
  • Interprets technical specifications and product testing requirements.
  • Assists in the development of task-based cost estimates, scopes of work and engineering schedules of high fidelity for the individual job function.
  • Demonstrates fundamental project planning skills and understanding of cost and schedule implications.
  • Understands customer perspectives and inputs and takes appropriate responsive actions.

What you Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the structural dynamics or shock analysis field, or an Advanced Degree with focus in Dynamics or Acoustics
  • Effective composition, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
