Job description

Every day, the world gets more digital thanks to tens of millions of developers building the future faster than ever. But with exponential growth comes exponential risk, as outnumbered security teams struggle to secure mountains of code. This is where Snyk (pronounced “sneak”) comes in. Snyk is a developer security platform that makes it easy for development teams to find, prioritize, and fix security vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, containers, and cloud infrastructure — and do it all right from the start. Snyk is on a mission to make the world a more secure place by empowering developers to develop fast and stay secure.

Joining Snyk means embracing our core values: One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to thrive in a dynamic environment where fostering collaboration, leading with empathy, driving business impact, and inspiring trust are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Opportunity:

The Director of Technical Product Marketing will join a growing Product Marketing team and collaborate heavily with a cross-functional group across customer marketing, product management, sales engineering and customer/technical success managers to build and execute marketing plans that further Snyk product technical differentiation in the market and with existing customers.

This role will balance its focus across initiatives to drive new customers/market share as well as customer retention and expansion. A major focus of this role will be to support the development of a comprehensive customer journey working closely with customer success and then building content and engagement programs working with the customer marketing team. Additionally, this role will act as a liaison between Product Management and Sales Enablement to ensure effective technical enablement of our Sales teams.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background of both technical and marketing disciplines and showcase a history of positioning/messaging product technical capabilities aligned with customer value and market needs.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Developing Market Messaging and Content to support promotion of the Snyk Customer Journey as well as significant Product milestones.
  • Developing various Value/ROI Calculators based on a progressive set of customer utilization KPIs and metrics.
  • Leading from a Product Marketing standpoint, on the evolution of Snyk’s free product offering and the associated PLG sales motion.
  • Collaborating with Customer Marketing and Customer Success teams on defining a prescriptive Customer Journey, that drives expanded use and up-sell across the Snyk portfolio.
  • Collaborating with the Sales Enablement team in establishment of technical required capabilities, training curriculum/content and overall enablement needs.
  • Supporting the Competitive Intelligence team in the evaluation of technical product capabilities across market categories.
  • Lead from Product Marketing on establishment of standardized product demos highlighting specific common use cases
  • Creating Market-Driven Thought Leadership content programs on more technical product concepts.
  • Supporting the Analyst Relations team in responding to technical requests and demos for industry analysts (e.g., coordination of demos for Gartner Magic Quadrants).
  • Supporting Product and Partner Marketing in technical messaging/content for Technology Alliance Partner Program co-marketing efforts.

What You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years of Technical Product Marketing experience OR a combination of Sales Engineering and Product Marketing within enterprise B2B software products.
  • 5+ years of technical/product experience in enterprise cybersecurity products (application security products, experience with DevOps/DevSecOps a plus).
  • Ability to distill technical content/information into messaging and marketing/sales content that resonates across audiences of varied technical depth.
  • Proven creator and presenter of technical product marketing content and information to both internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, with experience scaling functions and processes efficiently.
  • Knowledge of Force Management and/or Pragmatic Marketing principles a plus.

We care deeply about the warm, inclusive environment we’ve created and we value diversity – we welcome applications from those typically underrepresented in tech. If you like the sound of this role but are not totally sure whether you’re the right person, do apply anyway!
