Job Summary

This position will play a key role supporting the company’s corporate accounting department with primary accounting responsibility for cash and investments, insurance, compensation, product liability, payroll, and corporate allocations.  The position will draw on knowledge of U.S. GAAP as well as analytical and reconciliation skills to prepare month-end journal entries and ensure accounts are properly stated in the general ledger. In addition, this position will support corporate accounting initiatives to promote global compliance with U.S. GAAP and strong internal controls. The position will also require the ability to work effectively with professionals at various levels of the organization and to collaborate with individuals across functional areas and geographic locations. 

Job Responsibilities

•    Perform month end close activities including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of selected balance sheet accounts, and related account analysis.
•    Work closely with Corporate Treasury, Compensation, Risk Management, Legal and Payroll to insure proper application of accounting principles.  
•    Assist financial planning with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
•    Serve as a subject matter expert to the business on general ledger accounts and definitions.
•    Assist accounting manager with internal and external audit requests.
•    Prepare and maintain documentation, while implementing process automation and improvements.
•    Support efforts related to global accounting policies and internal controls.
•    Support other corporate accounting functions, and project participation as necessary.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Required
Education Specifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.
•    CPA certification is preferred. 

Experience Requirements

Required 

•    Minimum of 3 years related work and/or public accounting experience
•    Demonstrated competency in the use of spreadsheets and accounting systems for the purpose of analysis and financial reporting
•    Knowledge of U.S. GAAP 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
•    Self-motivated and a self-starter continuously looking for process improvements.
•    Ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints
•    Preferred: SAP ECC and/or SAP BPC experience

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
