Job description

 

This Research Program Assistant II is within the Wendy Klag Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Researchers are seeking a Research Program Assistant II to help with a qualitative project involving organization, transcription, and qualitative data coding for focus groups and key informant interviews. This project is part of the GEARs Autism Center of Excellence project based at BSPH, a network of research projects studying how the interplay of genetics and environmental factors might increase likelihood of autism, including co-occurring health conditions. One aim is to identify modifiable factors to improve lives of people living with autism. As such, we plan various focus groups and key informant interviews, such as adults on the spectrum, parents/caregivers, medical providers, risk communicators, etc.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • The work may be done remotely. We anticipate 5-10 hours a week, through July 2025.
  • Hours will be highly variable and determined by agreement of supervisor and worker.
  • Research Program Assistant II will be required to work outside normal office hours sometimes to accommodate participants in other time zones.
  • Research Program Assistant II will also need to be available sometimes within normal office hours for team meetings and data coding sessions. These variable hours include communications that occur outside normal office hours.

  • Ability to work well in a team setting.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Two years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
  • This research project will require CITI human subjects training certification.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Human subjects research experience.
  • Experience consenting research participants.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder.
  • Experience working and/or interacting with people with autism, caregivers, medical providers.
  • High level of experience and comfort using Zoom.
  • Experience with OneDrive.

Starting Salary Range: $15.70 - $26.25 HRLY ($13,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
