Position Summary: We are looking for a Senior Member of Technical Staff to join our Deploy Management team in Chennai R&D office.

Deploy Management is part of the Internal Developer Platforms zone (IDP).  IDP enables athena R&D developers to manage the complexity of our technology and improve their productivity while ensuring that the products they build can work across an open ecosystem.   

   
The Team: The Deployment Automation team oversees deploying our core, production code to thousands of servers in multiple data centers on a regular basis.  This position gives a tremendous opportunity to see infrastructure at scale.  Our fully automated deployment solution is industry standard, and constantly improving.  Previous experience in automating deployments is not required, though systems experience is highly preferred.  
 

Typical Qualifications    

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience with significant software engineering skills and computer science experience.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Bootcamp, or equivalent work experience (including internships).    
  • Knowledge of at least one modern programming language such as: Python, Java, Node.js, Perl and JavaScript. (Python preferred)  
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux, RESTful API, AWS, microservices, Docker, and distributed computing are desirable  
  • Experience with Ansible or similar frameworks highly preferred  
     

Job Responsibilities    

  • Conduct comprehensive code reviews and provide actionable feedback to ensure code quality and maintainability. 
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (product, operations, etc.) to achieve project goals. 
  • Develop knowledge to act as a domain expert. Take ownership of what the team builds and oversee efforts across the team to ensure completion.
