Role Summary
As a member of the Digital Provider Product Team, you will join a team transforming health care and health services for over 170M people worldwide. This role will work directly on the Cigna for Health Care Providers (CHCP) provider portal which offers providers the ability to perform critical administrative activities and exchange relevant health plan information throughout the member journey.
As a Digital Product Owner, you will seek to align business and technology objectives, communicate the product vision and roadmap, and prioritize needs into requirements to ensure that expected outcomes are achieved. You will lead a cross-functional team of technologists including strategist, designers, researchers, content strategists, analysts, and other digital experts to develop and enhance health plan provider portals. This role requires expertise in the revenue cycle management including claims processing, appeals, reconsiderations, and payment. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring our portal solutions align with the needs of healthcare providers, drive operational efficiency, and enhance user experience.
You’ll partner with and influence all facets of the business including operations, legal, risk, compliance, and cyber to drive bold strategies that define the trajectory of our user experience while shaping our product culture. About You:
- You have at least 5 years of professional experience as a Product Owner or similar role in the healthcare industry, with a focus on provider portals, claims management, claims appeals, and revenue cycle management workflows from submission to adjudication.

- Knowledge: Strong understanding of claims processing workflows, revenue cycle operations, industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines, etc.), and coding standards (ICD, CPT, HCPCS) and their impact on claims payment tracking, remittance advice and financial reporting.
- Claims & Appeals Expertise: Leverage in-depth knowledge of claims submissions, appeals, and reconsideration workflows to optimize portal functionality and usability.
- Technology Driven: You have familiarity with healthcare IT systems, EDI transactions, provider-payer integrations and experience working with Agile development teams building high-quality consumer products.
- Revenue Cycle Management Expertise: Familiarity with claims processing platforms, RCM software and EHR/EMR systems to design features and tools that streamline revenue cycle processes, improve financial outcomes, and reduce administrative burden for providers.
What You’ll Achieve:
- Put into practice problem-solving and analytical skills, including experience interpreting data, sometimes with limited context and direction.
- Drive the day-to-day tactical execution of product development.
- Lead backlog refinement sessions to maintain a consistently up-to-date, prioritized backlog of clearly defined features/stories.
- Translate business and operations problem statements and solution hypotheses into user stories or other forms of requirements, ensuring clear acceptance criteria and measurable success metrics.
- Proactively identify and resolve blockers (including technical and resourcing) to achieve product business objectives.
- Communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
- Continually build your product, technical and industry knowledge.
- Contribute to cross-functional stakeholder problem solving with business, engineering, and architecture to develop the best solution options.
- Ensure product performance by regularly monitoring key metrics and sharing key metrics as a checkpoint to validate monitoring.
- Ensure technology needs and product health of your products are addressed on a regular basis ensuring that you are not creating tech debt by focusing on feature enhancements only.
- Partner with peer POs and share best practices with the product team.
- POs will write definition-of-ready user stories, and incorporate architectural changes recommended by engineering.
- Leverages agility tools (e.g. Jira) and implements strategies to optimize team performance and achieve overall department objectives (e.g. manage story aging, manage WIP, epic size/throughput, etc.).
- Ensure the team’s work creates iterative value (e.g. supports the completion of MVPs/Epics in concert with other teams).
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 109,500 - 182,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
