About the Role:

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Infrastructure Engineer to lead our infrastructure projects and drive innovation within our IT department. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in designing, implementing, and managing complex infrastructure systems, particularly cloud-based services.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Application Oversight: Individual Contributor supporting over 100,000 assets consisting of Servers and Workstations using Tanium, collaborating with Infrastructure, Workplace, and InfoSec teams. 
  • Team Partnership: Collaborate with a global team of unified endpoint engineers responsible for the design, configuration, testing, deployment, health, and maintenance of the enterprise-scale Tanium application. 
  • Product Mindset: Follow Product methodology using Scrum, AGILE boards, sprint planning, and execution of Epic goals, prioritizing the backlog in Azure DevOps (ADO) boards. 
  • Engineering Quality & Operational Rigor: Execute following a robust SDLC framework that ensures all development activities follow defined phases to foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality assurance. Additionally, leverage rigorous documentation standards and adherence to change management guidelines. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance, standardize development efforts, minimize risks, and enhance operational resilience. 
  • Process Development: Follow IELC (Infrastructure Engineering Lifecycle) and SDLC disciplines to mature a formal and functional process for testing and certification. 
  • Change & Incident Management: Serve as department reviewer for all Tanium change requests and implementations. 
  • Deployment Projects: Effectively Partner with Infrastructure, Workplace, and InfoSec teams to securely deploy OS updates and third-party packages, by leveraging various modules and sensors within Tanium. 
  • Strategy & Continuous Improvement: Foster strong relationships with LOB’s, senior leadership, and Infrastructure & security practitioners globally. Engage with BISO (business information security officers) on patching & remediation strategy and architects & senior infrastructure leads on platform strategy.

  • Code Review & Quality Assurance:Conduct thorough reviews of code changes made by team members to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and organizational policies.

  • Vulnerability Management and Support:Provide critical support for vulnerability data integrity and reporting processes. Ensure timely and accurate data delivery to customers, including the development and maintenance of relevant reports and dashboards.

Technical Skills 

Technical Individual Contributor: Experience in supporting the Tanium application with global teams, particularly in endpoint engineering and infrastructure management.  Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, BISOs, and technical teams. Skills in managing vendor relationships and support for technology products.  Project Management: Strong project management skills to Engineer deployment projects and annual upgrade initiatives.  Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and strategies to various stakeholders.  Incident, Change & Troubleshooting: Experience in handling change requests and major incident remediation. Strong problem-solving skills for first- and second line troubleshooting and remediation. Expertise in monitoring infrastructure stability and performance, and familiarity with tools for real-time visibility and reporting.  Data Analysis: Ability to analyze metrics, performance data, and compliance artifacts to support decision-making and strategy development.  Audit and Regulatory Requirements: Understanding of audit processes and regulatory requirements, and ability to produce necessary artifacts.  Platform Expertise: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Tanium and Windows / Unix Operating Systems - including its deployment, configuration, monitoring, and management. Proficiency in managing large-scale environments with over 100,000 endpoints (servers and workstations).   SDLC & Agile Methodology: Strong understanding of SDLC frameworks and best practices and Proficiency in Agile practices, Scrum framework, and managing Agile boards in tools like Azure DevOps (ADO).  Security Baseline Management: Understanding of security baselines and drift scanning. 

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $130,000-$227,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.  This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits. Experience:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Infrastructure Systems, with at least 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Tanium.
  • Proven experience in leading major projects in a development capacity within a financial organization.
  • Strong background as a Lead Security Engineer with supporting Information Security Applications on a variety of Operating Systems.
  • Experience with both cloud and on-premises environments and implementations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering results.
