Position Overview
The Content and Communications Coordinator will support OCHIN marketing and communications through a wide variety of cross-functional activities. This role will understand internal and external audiences and the media channels that enable them, to effectively support the implementation, monitoring and optimization of marketing activities and communications campaigns across the organization. As a highly detail-oriented, organized, creative contributor to the OCHIN Communications and Marketing team, this person will help support daily media relations activities, such as news monitoring, interview prep, and coverage reporting, and contribute to integrated content marketing campaigns and initiatives by maintaining core collateral and presentations; updating website content; writing blog posts; and coordinating newsletters, testimonials, social media posts, and more. This role actively contributes to team excellence by staying abreast of news, content marketing, and public relations trends and adopting best practices. The Content and Communications Coordinator also provides functional support to communications and marketing colleagues and actively seeks to collaborate with others across the organization to advance projects that support OCHIN’s mission and embody its values, fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging.
Essential Duties
- Storytelling and Content Creation/Curation: Supports the development of compelling external and internal content that connects core audiences to OCHIN’s mission, value, and capabilities across traditional, digital, and social media channels.
- Brand/Message Management: In partnership with others, ensures that all communications and marketing materials align to and reinforce OCHIN’s brand expression, voice, and strategic narrative.
- Metrics & Performance: Incorporates methods of measurement to optimize the reach and relevancy of corporate communications and marketing materials. Seeks to optimize communications and marketing effectiveness to drive heightened audience awareness, understanding, and engagement.
- Teaming & Collaboration: Adept at partnering across teams to socialize new ideas and strategies collaborate to build buy-in, and strengthen outcomes and drive positive results.
- External Communications: Supports the writing and production of original public content such as: newsletters, blog posts, press releases, videos, web pages, social media posts, or other publicity materials with an eye toward newsworthiness and organizational brand/message alignment. Contributes to strategic communications planning and public relations initiatives.
- Member and Workforce Communications: Provides additional communications support to member and workforce communications teams as needed to drive timely brand/message alignment.
- Media Relations: Provides media relations coordination and support, including regular media monitoring, interview/spokesperson prep, and coverage reporting.
- Content & Campaign Coordination: Helps coordinate monthly newsletter and supports content or media asset management as needed. Actively contributes to OCHIN’s editorial calendar and supports integrated communications campaigns across core audiences and channels.
- Writing/Editing: Uses industry best-practices, including AP style and SEO, to craft high-quality content and translate it across diverse audiences to maximize reach and engagement. Helps maintain core presentations, visuals, and messaging collateral used by teams across the organization to support brand/narrative alignment. · Analytics and Reporting: Helps tracks metrics for performance and engagement and supports weekly, monthly, and quarterly analytics reports to guide integrated content marketing strategy.
- Executive Communications and Events Support: Partners with others across the Communications and Marketing team to support executive communications, marketing, and event management as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience using Microsoft O365 and SharePoint tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Familiarity with social media and scheduling applications, like Later or HootSuite (Wordpress, AirTable, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other CMS/design tools a plus)
- Exemplary communications skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal, intercultural, and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to self-manage tasks and details (some project management experience a plus)
- Proven ability to work on multiple complex programs and projects at one time (e.g. experience in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment)
- Degree in public relations, journalism, communications, English, or marketing, or a combination of 1-4 years of experience in related field and some higher education

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Work Location and Travel Requirements
OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.
