General Purpose: The Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for preparing cost report schedules and reports for filing. This role involves performing detailed analysis of costs and accounts to ensure proper costs are recorded in the correct cost centers. The ideal candidate should possess a strong accounting background, be organized, and have the ability to work independently. Strong Excel skills are preferred, and the ability to work under pressure and perform many routine tasks is essential.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepare cost report schedules and reports for filing.
  • Perform detailed analysis of costs and accounts to ensure proper costs are recorded in the correct cost centers.
  • Validate patients' information and medical documents to support claims and process reimbursement efficiently.
  • Review reimbursement requests, respond to patients' inquiries and concerns, and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Assign medical billing codes, establish fee schedules, and monitor insurance reimbursement for specialized tests.
  • Submit inpatient and outpatient insurance claims to third-party payers and drug manufacturers.
  • Provide administrative support by creating proposals, letters, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Cultivate relationships with key contacts at insurance companies and managed care organizations to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong accounting background.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of reimbursement policies and procedures.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Experience in a finance role preferred.
