CareerVillage.org is dedicated to democratizing access to career information and advice for underrepresented people. As our Content/Curriculum Manager, you’ll drive the development of activities, content, and educator resources for our AI Career Coach, Coach.
What you’ll do
Please note: The title and level of this role are flexible depending on each candidate.
- Manage and define activity content strategy: Develop and drive a cohesive content strategy that aligns with CareerVillage.org’s mission, ensuring all activities support learner career readiness growth, address key career development topics, and stay relevant to the evolving needs of our users.
- Design career development activities: Lead the creation of structured, step-by-step guides and resources to help learners navigate key career development milestones. You’ll define learning objectives, set criteria for success, and ensure activity quality.
- Collaborate across teams: Partner with Product, Engineering, Partner Success, and other teams to bring activities to life, ensuring they align with the platform’s mission and goals.
- Lead a team of contractor subject matter experts: Manage a team of career counseling and content experts who provide guidance and feedback to ensure all activities are crafted to the highest standards and support learner outcomes effectively.
- Prompt engineering: Develop prompts that instruct Coach step by step on how to guide educators and learners to achieve a learning objective (note - you don’t need any technical expertise here, and you can absolutely learn this).
- Lead testing and iteration: Oversee a collaborative testing and review process to ensure all activities meet our standards for accuracy, completeness, and impact and iterate based on feedback.
- Manager career development resources: Lead the curation and management of the resources we use to contribute to our platform.
- Champion career development excellence: Bring expert knowledge of career advising to guide content strategy, ensuring that all activities are transformative and accessible for learners from diverse backgrounds.
What you bring
- 3+ years experience as a career advisor, coach, or in a related field coaching people through career exploration, career planning, and job searching, ideally with a diverse group of beneficiaries
- Career Development or Career Coaching Certification (i.e., CPCC, BCC, GCDF, NCDA certifications, etc.)
- Experience working in a very high-growth, fast-paced, rapidly-changing work environment (i.e., a company or nonprofit that doubled its size multiple years in a row, and you loved it)
- Demonstrated experience in creating step-by-step guides, instructional materials, or other structured learning content.
- Familiarity with established career development theories, skills assessment, and competency-building techniques.
- Ability to articulate curriculum concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to manage and refine multiple curriculum projects simultaneously, with a focus on quality and learner outcomes

- Comfort working across teams and bringing structure and clarity to complex content projects

Hybrid Optional in NYC. CareerVillage.org has team members worldwide, with our HQ in Palo Alto, CA.
