As a Senior Manager of HCP Education & KOL Management for our Surgical business in Region Europe, you will play a key role in driving the organization’s impact by developing and delivering educational  training programs for healthcare professionals (HCPs) specializing in eye care. The position focuses on improving clinical competencies, deepening product knowledge, and promoting best practices in patient care. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external partners to offer up-to-date, evidence-based educational courses in surgical ophthalmology. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and working with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in ophthalmology across Europe, in partnership with European country teams. This role is based at the Alcon Experience Center (AEC) in Barcelona. In this role, a typical day will include:

Develop and deliver educational & training curriculum for HCPs in ophthalmology

  • Comprehensive annual program of training courses delivered at AEC Barcelona covering Alcon´s surgical priorities

  • Course content developed in close collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g. International HCP Education roles and product experts)

  • Educational faculty assembled in close collaboration with countries and international product experts to ensure a diverse group of renowned experts

  • Timely communication of educational opportunities allowing country teams to approach and engage with appropriate customers

  • Ensures excellent delivery of on-site and live-stream training courses allowing good customer experience

Manage Alcon Experience Centre (AEC) in Barcelona

  • Leadership of the AEC team in Barcelona

  • Excellent collaboration and communication with other internal departments relying on the AEC in Barcelona as training centre (Clinical Application Specialists, internal training department)

  • Budget management – stay within agreed spendings with proper forecasting of requirements; build business cases if new investments needed e.g. due to new product launches, product upgrades

  • Ensure customer interactions are compliantly captured in Alcon´s CRM system

  • Accountable for the communication flow towards internal and external stakeholders related to AEC events and initiatives.

  • Identifies and implements improvement opportunities for topics related to AEC  

KOL Management

  • Builds and manages relationships with KOLs; is seen as the SPOC for KOL engagement activities at regional level

  • Provides KOL recommendations for advisory boards, speaker events and medical, scientific or marketing events

  • Manages KOL execution at regional conferences (ESCRS, EURETINA, FLORETINA, etc.)

WE ARE SEEKING:

  • Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Science, Economics, or a related field.

  • Fluency in English (oral & written) language. Spanish would be an asset and highly recommended. Other languages are highly appreciated.

  • Proven experience in the Ophthalmic Medical Business

  • At least three years of experience in the medical device industry, preferably in Ophthalmology (marketing/ sales/ clinical/ medical/ education)is required.

  • Experience in managing KOLs in congresses and events. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a track record of successful engagements with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

  • Excellent inter-cultural communication skills.

  • Prior leadership experience would be appreciated.

  • Experience and ability to travel up to 30% of the time to commercial sites in the Europe and to attend international congresses
