The platform was founded by prominent AI researchers Richard Socher, former Chief Scientist at Salesforce and a TIME100 AI honoree for 2023, and Bryan McCann, specializing in deep learning and natural language processing.
Recognized as one of Time’s “Best Inventions” of 2022 and listed among Fortune’s 50 AI Innovators in 2023, you.com pioneered the first search engine to integrate a consumer-facing LLM with direct internet access, providing accurate, verifiable, and up-to-date responses.
We are hiring a world-class team of software engineers to architect, implement, and deploy a consumer-facing product that harnesses AI to surface trusted information for more confident user decisions.
In these nascent stages, you must be comfortable experimenting rapidly: working with the founding team to implement new, experimental interfaces and ultimately deploy the best solution in regular, early product releases.
While you can execute implementation and experimentation independently, you thrive in collaborative environments. You can integrate active user feedback into your vision for the product and work with designers and engineers to bring your vision to You.com.
What You Need
- You have experience designing, implementing, running, and maintaining production front-end code using React, NextJS, CSS, and other frameworks
- You have experience testing complex fullstack applications using tools like Cypress and Storybook
- You have experience with scalable, user-facing applications that require complex state management, real-time user events, and intricate UI/UX for both mobile and desktop
- You can quickly iterate with product and design teams as part of a tight user-validated feedback loop
- You’re passionate about details; you strive for pixel-perfect front-end code and lightning-fast load times
- You understand the importance of reliable monitoring, deployment strategies, and a highly scalable and robust cloud infrastructure
- You have experience with best practices and patterns that allow the most skilled engineering teams to communicate effectively and deliver quickly and regularly
- You want to write high-quality code and build a world-class engineering team
- You are electrified by the possibilities and challenges of rapidly shipping and iterating on user-facing code and building a consumer application with high public visibility
- You have a strong portfolio, whether it is a collection of professional, academic, or personal projects taking the form of production code, published papers, or open-source contributions

- The role is considered a P3 in our role-leveling system inspired by PAVE

- You.com offers location-based compensation. Here are a few examples of what the annual salary for this role could look like if you are located in one of these locations:
- US Tier 1: $200k-$235k USD
- US Tier 2: $185k-$220k USD
- US Tier 3: $185k-$220K USD
