Job Overview

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is searching for a Sr. Manager, Product Management to join our Product Management department and help us explore, invent, develop, and deliver Commercial Lines Rating Products. In this role, you will function as a strong advocate for end users and customers with the goal of delivering useful functionality to our in-house commercial lines rating platform work better. You will help create the vision and roadmap for our connected CL software product offerings, and you will lead the definition of clear requirements and user stories to turn this vision into reality. You will further strive to deliver high-quality software products on time to market, in alignment with strategic goals while meeting the needs of our clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Help build the product vision and roadmap, including new target markets and features, and help redefine the go-to-market strategy and product value proposition that support the plan for short and long-term company goals.
  • Deploy and use best practices to measure, understand, and optimize the success of commercial lines rating. Design new features and propose improvements to existing features to maximize impact.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define business requirements that maximize the product value. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional groups across the company, including analysts, engineers, sales, marketing, accounting, training, and support.
  • Responsible for the full product life cycle, including concept, requirements definition, design, release, communication, promotion, maintenance, and evolution of large-scale systems involving multiple work streams, releases, and deployments.
  • Create, maintain, and continuously prioritize product and/or release backlogs, and participate in backlog refinement sessions with your Scrum team(s).
  • Lead your features through to completion, managing discovery and changes along the way.
  • Define acceptance criteria and perform user acceptance testing to validate that your solutions meet the users’ needs.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office
  • Ability to travel

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner delivering highly successful and innovative software products.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven success in taking products and ideas from inception to maturity.
  • Track record of understanding customers both intuitively and objectively measured.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Experience delivering best-in-class SaaS products.
  • Knowledge of AI capabilities, limitations, and future trends.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of computer science, electrical engineering, finance, or marketing.

Additionally, you may have:

  • InsurTech/ FinTech experience supporting diverse market segments, including enterprise-class customers.
  • Technology experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management tools, such as JIRA.
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools, such as Amplitude.
