Job description

Overview:

Kimley-Horn is looking for a CAD Operator to join our Land Development team in Fort Mill, South Carolina (SC)! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities:

The Entry-Level CAD Operator will support land development projects by assisting in the preparation of site plans, grading, drainage, and utility layouts using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Working under the direction of experienced engineers and designers, the CAD Operator will help ensure the accurate and timely creation of construction documents for residential, commercial, and/or industrial developments.

  • Prepare and modify AutoCAD drawings for land development projects, including site plans, grading, drainage, and utility design.
  • Designing and producing sets of plans; implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards
  • Assists in maintaining drawing database
  • Performs routine analysis to check accuracy of data
  • Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred)
  • 0 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products preferred (AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred)
  • A willingness to learn and grow within the field of land development design.
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
