Who are we hiring?

The Senior Director will provide thought leadership in the development and execution of procurement strategies across all business segments, including Sports, Entertainment, and Sphere (collectively, the “MSG Family of Companies”). The Senior Director is responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement of all related spending across each department within the three business segments. The Senior Director Procurement-Food and Beverage will report into the Senior Vice President of Procurement, lead a team of managers and buyers, and works closely with procurement purchasing leaders responsible for other purchasing needs of the MSG Family of Companies.

 What will you do? 

  • Develop and manage the execution of key procurement initiatives supporting the various business segments and all corporate functions including data gathering and analysis, business requirements development, supplier qualification, preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), evaluation of responses, preparation of recommendations and contracting negotiation.
  • Utilize analytical experience to create and evaluate total cost of ownership models, assist clients in delivering measurable cost savings, quality improvement and contingency supply strategies.
  • Develop master agreements and purchasing agreements to optimize cost benefits in collaboration with clients and Legal department.
  • Monitor and manage supplier and service provider relationships to ensure established performance standards are met, resolve dispute situations as needed, and monitor client satisfaction with goods and services provided.
  • Develop and maintain compliance reporting based on contractual agreements for supplier and service providers.
  • Oversees the day-to-day tactical purchasing by leading Food & Beverage Managers, problem solving, creating efficiencies, and leading technology improvements.
  • Lead proprietary/logo item management, via yearly redesigns as well as vendor inventory management to ensure supply stock and proper inventory levels through the season.
  • Lead yearly bidding process to ensure cost savings.
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships Team on new and existing customers, support the Purchasing function of the agreements, negotiate pricing and terms, as well as work directly with customers to determine best supply chain direction.
  • Maintain Eatec database of Inventory Items and manage team to ensure all settings are accurate and up to date, such as PAR levels, conversions, and packages.
  • Lead a team of regionally dispersed managers and buyers (East and West Coast) to effectively support the needs of their assigned business units.

What do you need to succeed? 

  • BS in Finance, Business, Purchasing or Operations related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in a Food and Beverage Purchasing role.
  • Ability to translate goals into procurement opportunities as well as effectively communicate progress.          
  • Experience using MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Prior experience using Food & Beverage ordering systems.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with all customers (internal and external).
  • Ability to work both independently to trouble shoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and open to learning new ways of working.
  • Ability to be a reliable team member, capable of effective collaboration to achieve our shared goals across teams and departments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, tailoring the message based on the purpose, audience, and channel.
  • Ability to embrace change with a flexible mindset, even if the way forward isn’t clear.

$134,000$225,000 USD
