As part of their growth plans, they are seeking an experienced Credit Control Manager to join the team. This role is crucial in ensuring that invoices are paid on time, bad debts are minimized, and senior management has timely, insightful data to support business expansion. This role is also key to delivering the outstanding customer experience that defines their approach and values.

Job Role

This position holds full responsibility for the Sales Ledger across all group companies. The Credit Control Manager ensures invoices are collected within terms, and overdue payments are managed according to established credit control policies.

The role involves proactive collaboration with internal departments and external parties to resolve disputes, constantly striving to improve processes for scalability and efficiency.

  • Weekly Reporting: Provide weekly KPI reports to the Head of Finance, including debtor aging, direct debit onboarding and collections, and credit notes. Contribute to cash flow forecasting using known and expected payment dates.
  • Credit Control Process: Oversee and implement the client’s credit control escalation process, collaborating with internal departments and communicating directly with customers.
  • Direct Debit Administration: Manage the Direct Debit platform, ensuring accurate information across internal systems, timely reconciliation between billing, accounts, and the bureau.
  • Collections Maintenance: Handle failed collections and canceled Direct Debits, with special attention to high-risk verticals and customers with equipment rental agreements. Monitor their creditworthiness on an ongoing basis.
  • Process Improvements: Continuously seek ways to optimize processes and effectively leverage automation within the company’s technology stack.
  • Acquisition Integration: Manage migration processes for acquisitions, including transitioning collection facilities into group accounts, aligning payment cycles, and communicating banking changes to customers as part of group banking alignment.
  • System Updates: Stay informed about updates from the company’s bureau (Access Pay) and accounting software (Xero). Take ownership of internal and external development requests to enhance processes.

Experience Required

  • Strong internal and external communication skills, with the ability to escalate and collaborate with other departments and confidently engage with customers.
  • A proactive and driven approach to building a high-performing function within the finance team, with a proven ability to resolve issues independently and effectively.
