A Day in the Life:

Sparq is seeking an experienced and dynamic Practice Leader to guide and expand our consulting services practice in the Cloud and engineering space. This leader will be responsible for multiple disciplines. As a key member of our leadership team, you will manage the growth of our practice with an emphasis in cloud solutions. You will develop and enhance innovative offerings, oversee business operations and collaborate on both pre-sales strategy and operations efforts to ensure excellence in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Practice Strategy & Leadership:
Lead and develop the overall strategy for Sparq’s Cloud and modernization practice, with a focus on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry trends.

Multi-Area Oversight:
Oversee and manage diverse teams across Software Engineering (.NET, Java, Full Stack, Javascript, Python etc), Cloud Engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, and Quality Assurance to ensure cohesive collaboration and high-quality delivery.

Solution Development:
Build, refine, and scale innovative offerings for clients, with a focus on modernization, platform engineering, and digital transformation. Continuously refine offerings to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Consulting & Delivery Excellence:
Provide strategic leadership for consulting engagements, driving successful delivery of cloud and engineering solutions, optimizing operational efficiency, and enhancing client satisfaction. A strong emphasis is placed on enhancing client satisfaction by maintaining high standards of service, meeting project objectives, and delivering solutions that align with client goals.

Business & Operations Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, including resource allocation, utilization, financial management, and operational efficiency. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while nurturing client relationships to ensure growth of the practice.

Sales & Business Development:
Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to support business development efforts, including client relationship management and providing technical and strategic insights to secure deals and expand the business..

Trend Analysis & Innovation:
Stay ahead of industry trends in cloud technologies and platform engineering. Adapt and evolve the practice's approach and go-to-market offerings to match emerging technologies and client needs.

Team Development & Mentorship:
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development across all areas of the practice. Mentor and guide team members to grow their skills and careers within the organization. Track trends and forecast future opportunities to ensure the team’s capabilities are aligned with market demand.

What it takes:

  • 15+ years of experience in cloud consulting, software engineering, technology management, and application optimization/support, with a strong focus in Cloud
  • services like Azure and/or AWS
  • Extensive experience in IT services and consulting industry with a proven history of leading practices and growing large, cross-functional teams
  • Experience with strategy development, solution design, and ensuring delivery excellence
  • Deep understanding of platform engineering, modernization and migration strategies
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in pre-sales and operations management within a technology consulting firm
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving innovation and business growth.
  • Solid leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver successful solutions in complex environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take initiative in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Building / Enhancing US and Nearshore teams is preferred
