Job Description

The Director of People Operations is responsible for leading and ensuring the effective design, implementation, and measurement of People Operations processes, policies, programs and initiatives to support the employee lifecycle across all global locations (onboarding through to offboarding). This role will oversee People Processes, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, People Data Analytics and P&C Compliance  and will work closely with the CPO and key stakeholders in Finance, IT, and Legal on related programs. This role plays a crucial part in aligning People Ops with the organization's business objectives and fostering a positive workplace culture on a global scale. This position reports to the CPO.

  • Provide leadership and guidance on compensation, benefits, compliance practices, and systems, ensuring a unified and consistent approach to People Ops practices across all regions.
  • Oversee and optimize People Operations on a global scale, ensuring efficiency and compliance with relevant laws and regulations in all regions
  • Prioritize process efficiency and effectiveness across all areas of People Operations.
  • Develop impactful people data analytics and reporting practices.
  • Set global People policies, procedures, and best practices while accommodating local variations where necessary.
  • Manage global pay strategies, including designing and implementing competitive salary and equity ranges, bonus programs, and other rewards programs.
  • Ensure Nearmap is in pay compliance in the areas where we employ talent.
  • Regularly review and improve, where needed, our employee benefits, leave and other wellness policies and programs to ensure we are competitive in our market in attracting and retaining talent.
  • Oversee HR technology systems and solutions, including HRIS and reporting tools, to support global People Operations.
  • Utilize data analytics to make informed decisions, track key People metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all regions' labor laws, regulations, and employment practices, working closely with legal and compliance teams.
  • Manage global employment contracts and agreements, ensuring consistency and legal compliance.
  • Support the People Operations aspects of international expansion efforts and mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, integration, and alignment of People practices.
  • Develop and manage the People Operations budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
  • Allocate resources strategically to support P&C initiatives and global P&C operations.
  • Maintain effective communication with senior leadership, P&C leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure People Ops strategies align with organizational goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and changes in HR regulations and share knowledge with the People team.
  • Pursue continuous professional development to enhance leadership skills and People Ops expertise.
  • Holds team members accountable with clear objectives and processes.
  • Drive high performance through managing, coaching, enabling and promoting collaboration.
  • Recruit and retain high performers, develop talent, recognise and reward performance, support and provide growth and development guidance to maximise performance.
  • Facilitate necessary meetings to increase team collaboration, solve issues, share knowledge and celebrate achievements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution (preferred).HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
  • 10+ years of experience in the People Operations field and at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience successfully leading a People Operations function in companies experiencing growth organically and through acquisition.
  • Demonstrated success leading system and process change and transformation initiatives by winning the respect of peers and teams and leveraging positive influence skills.
  • Experience managing compensation and benefits programs including equity programs within a Private Equity (or similar) environment
  • Expert on HR systems and reporting.
  • A record of success in driving people operations policies and practices to achieve positive organizational change that enhances profitability and growth.
  • Must be a leader who is supportive, approachable and creates a culture of accountability with strong analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Track record of successful ops strategy development and tactical execution.
  • Team player with well-developed oral and written communication and listening skills with proven ability to develop effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment where a roll-up-your-sleeves approach is required.
