What We Do
Assist escrow branch operations with disbursement of escrow transactions by creating checks and issuing wires. Review and prepare closing files for disbursement once the file is closed. Confirm that the file balances are accurate and disburse the funds according to directions, most often by issuing checks or sending wires. Work with title companies to balance files that have closed and make changes according to the title company’s direction.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepares wires for transfer
  • Issues checks
  • Follow the direction of the title company for any changes made after a file funds
  • Provide external client customer service
  • Numeric and alphanumeric data entry into First American proprietary software
  • Answer a light volume of phone calls
  • Ask the deposit team to deposit payees checks
  • Match in funds from deposits made by payees
  • Ensure file is properly balance and reconcile any differences with the title agent
  • Reconcile incoming and outgoing wires.
  • Cut net proceed checks to borrowers, lien holders and creditors as required.
  • Communicate with agents regarding any payoff shortages or returned wires

What You’ll Bring

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years Banking and/or Escrow Experience highly preferred
  • Intermediate level working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and escrow related software. Ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments and Asks questions if unsure what needs done.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests; Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives.

  • Basic accounting knowledge including accounts receivable
  • Settlement statement (HUD) knowledge

Salary Range: $18.02 - $30.02 Hourly

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.  Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
