Job description

Job Overview: 
The Software Developer reporting to the Operations Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager, Software Engineer and LMS Administrator. As part of their responsibilities, they will play a crucial role in the daily operations and in the development of new features and functionality for both the LMS and internal processes. They will provide expert level support to internal team and recommend improvements. Maintaining efficient and effective systems to ensure that the LMS always remains stable. 

Job Description: 
  • Manage Moodle codebases and collaborate with the hosting provider to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Maintaining Moodle themes and features to meet specific needs and enhance functionality. Maintain and keep the systems current and stable.
  • Develop and test plugins to ensure compatibility with the LMS, optimizing performance as necessary. Create and provide SQL scripts when required. Thoroughly test new versions in staging environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues for clients and team members, managing tickets and performing R&D when necessary.
  • Design and document new features, creating technical design documents that support data storage solutions.
  • Communicate with clients as needed, leveraging a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and systems integration.
  • Provide training, support, and address any issues as directed by the Operations Manager or Software Engineer.


Requirements

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or relevant experience. Advanced skills in front-end (HTML5, Bootstrap, JavaScript, CSS3) and back-end (OOP, PHP, LAMP, MySQL) development. Proficiency in Git, Bash scripting, and Moodle administration.
  • Desirable: Experience with Laravel, WordPress, Drupal, SCORM packages, AWS server management
