About the Job

The Administrative Assistant for the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) School of Counseling (SoC) is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Dean of Counseling. The Administrative Assistant supports the Dean and program directors in program assessment and management, and assists the PhD of Counselor Education and Supervision team with administrative duties.

We’re looking for candidates who have:

  1. Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  2. Strong attention to detail within a system that focuses on big picture issues.
  3. Ability to work with diverse team members, persons from other departments representing different perspectives, and a variety of student requests.
  4. Proficiency in Word, Excel, WebAdvisor, FileBound, and Colleague, and the ability to learn how to use technological programs and databases quickly.
  5. Commitment to work collaboratively from a team approach management style.

Key Job Duties           

  1. Contribute to CCU’s mission: Christ-centered higher education transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth. In this role, the Administrative Assistant contributes to the mission by being a supporting member of a Christ-centered academic team that is committed to extending grace and truth to CCU students.
  2. Check emails and answer questions related to the School of Counseling.
  3. Assist Dean with yearly data collection for programmatic assessments.
  4. Assist the Program Director of the Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision with various administrative duties and dissertation support.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean.
  6. Maintain a database of state licensure requirements for all degrees and emphasis, ensuring compliance with the Department of Education. 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. Requires sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and conducting phone conversations for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. You may be required to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.

Pay will be assigned based on relevant experience at a range of $16.00 - $18.00 per hour. Pay and benefits will be discussed in more detail as candidates progress through the interview process.

Spiritual Requirements

  1. Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
  2. Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
  3. Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
  4. Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
