Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

join the Digital+ team who work on our beautiful apps Pregnancy+ and Baby+ where we see graphic design as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires. We are looking for a highly creative graphic designer who can take conceptual ideas and create visual representations in electronic media. Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of current design software and skilled with every step of the design process from concept to the final deliverable. Collaborating with multiple teams at our company, the graphic designer should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain thorough understanding of branding and marketing. You are responsible for

- taking our conceptual ideas and creating visual representations in electronic media.

- Collaborating with multiple teams at Philips, and taking direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects.

- Working on a wide range of projects and media, using various computer software to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals

-   With help of the marketing team, ensuring designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately

-   Working independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with marketing team, meeting deadlines and budget constraints, and scheduling project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects

-  Examining existing processes, identifying flaws and creating solutions to improve design capabilities

- Updating and maintaining internal databases of designs, photography, and video

-  Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams for a wide range of materials that may include digital marketing materials, web pages, and presentations

-   Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity

-   Develop concepts with software, and execute original content determining ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout

-   Manage the design and filing process of all project material, understanding best practices for using a content management system

You are a part of

A wider Digital Marketing team within our Health & Parenting business group who will support your development throughout your internship.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of current design software and is skilled with every step of the design process from concept to the final deliverable.

  • Field of study: studying towards a Bachelor or Master in Marketing or any related study

  • Experience with graphic design

  • Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills

  • Experience with design software: Adobe Photoshop (essential) Illustrator / InDesign / After Effects would be bonus

  • Video and animation experience are a plus. 

  • Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Next to that, we are offering a decent internship package: 

  • Monthly allowance depending on educational level. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata. 

  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours. 

  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net  

  • Paid holidays per internship term. 

  • The opportunity to buy Philips products at our Philips shop.

Please note that in order to be considered for an internship, you need to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation (proof of enrollment) will be requested. Students from outside the EU need to fill in an NUFFIC agreement, which needs to be signed by the student and the university. Please note that the contents of our regular internship assignments are not suitable for professionals (and/or MBA students) with professional work experience
