Job description

Job Title
Internship: M&A Program Management Office (non thesis)

Job Description

Start date: 15 of Jan, latest 15th of February 2025

Duration: 6 months

Time: 40 hours per week

Location: Amsterdam

Type: Non-Thesis internship

Please note, this internship is in the M&A Integration & Disentanglement team, this is not per se a Finance focused internship (such as deal modeling, valuation, comps analysis), but more related to Program Management of the Integration and Separation programs for Philips Acquisitions and Divestments.

In this role, you have the opportunity to apply project management methodologies by analyzing current practices, define best practices for the Program Management Office (PMO) and implement improvements in the Post-Merger-Integration & Disentanglement (PMI&D) team. This PMI&D team consists of program managers and functional experts who lead the post-merger integration and disentanglement activities for acquisitions, divestments or Joint Ventures to ensure a smooth transition into Royal Philips, ensuring value creation and business objectives.

Your role:

  • Providing a consultative role to projects and M&A PMI&D Post-Merger Integration team by identifying, setting, and maintaining best practices, effectively implementing changes in ways of working towards efficiency and continuous improvement.

  • Supporting in ensuring quality control for project management across the PMI and the functional experts team.

  • Supporting the proper maintenance of the PMO repository (OneNote, SharePoint etc.) and cross-projects communication (e.g. helping with preparing project meetings from the PMI leads’ calendars, PMO account etc.).

  • Helping the Program Management Officer and the program managers with organizing events, training's, workshops, project logistics etc.

You're the right fit if:

  • You are currently studying towards your Bachelor or Master Degree in: Business Administration, (International) Business Management, Business Economics, Organizational studies, Engineering or Healthcare Sciences.

  • You are fluent in oral and written English and you have excellent interpersonal/communication skills with a high attention to details and ability to multitask efficiently

  • You are familiar with MS Office suite.

In return, we’ll offer you: A non-stop growth opportunity within PMO area but also within a global multinational company.

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on your education level and if you need to relocate to The Netherlands. Part-time internships receive the allowance pro-rata.

  • Housing compensation. Should you need to relocate to near our office, we’ll offer you a monthly allowance of €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. To be eligible, we’ll just ask for the rental contract from your landlord, and your usual home-work travel distance needs to be more than 50 km or 1.5 hours of travel time (for a one way trip).

  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net as a monthly allowance.

  • Paid holidays per internship term.

  • The opportunity to buy Philips products at our Philips shop.

IMPORTANT:

Part of our selection procedure is a HireVue online interview recording. We are not able to share the outcome of this HireVue interview but will use this as extra selection criteria.

In order to be considered, you have to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation will be requested. Students from outside the EU enrolled at a Dutch university need to fill in a NUFFIC agreement – which needs to be signed by the student and the university.

Please note that the contents of our regular internship assignments are not suitable for professionals (and/or MBA students) with professional work experience.
