What’s the role?

The Associate Director of Vendor Management and Outsourcing manages global vendor due diligence, outsourcing activities, and vendor performance to ensure alignment with business goals. This role includes negotiating contracts, mitigating risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing costs associated with vendor relationships. The position collaborates with Legal, Finance, Data Privacy, Technology, Compliance, and Operation teams to enforce adherence to company standards and policies.

The role has one direct report and leverages multiple stakeholders to manage the vendor management due diligence activities.

What you’ll be doing

Vendor Due Diligence

  • Coordinate vendor due diligence processes in accordance with the Vendor Management Policy.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks associated with vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance of all vendor agreements with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Outsourcing-Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee the vendor onboarding process, ensuring adherence to Gen II’s standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor evaluations and onboarding using Gen II’s established approach, ensuring compliance and suitability.
  • Implement and manage processes for outsourced activities, including conducting regulatory reviews of arrangements to ensure compliance with laws and standards.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Compliance teams to draft and review outsourcing contracts and associated documentation, focusing on risk mitigation.

Vendor Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key vendors and partners.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, escalations, and issue resolution.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure vendor services align with organizational goals.

Contract Negotiation & Management

  • Lead negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms and cost efficiency.
  • Draft, review, and finalize vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and internal standards.
  • Monitor contract performance and manage renegotiations as necessary.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Define and monitor vendor performance metrics, such as KPIs and SLAs.
  • Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews to address service gaps and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement cost optimization strategies without compromising service quality.

Budgeting & Financial Management

  • Manage the vendor management budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
  • Develop strategies to maximize value from vendor partnerships and outsourcing arrangements.

 

The ideal background for this role:

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Law, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of European outsourcing laws, regulations, and market standards.
Experience
  • 5–7 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain roles.
  • Proven expertise in contract negotiation and managing vendor relationships at a senior level.
  • Experience with performance metrics, procurement strategies, and outsourcing management.
Skills

Role Location/Hybrid Schedule

This role is based in either our London or Southampton office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available
