Job Title: Remote Financial Controller (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $3,000 - 3,500 USD/month

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST

Job Overview:

Our client is a dynamic and growing meat processing facility currently generating $4MM in revenue, with an ambitious goal of reaching $25MM in the next three years. We’re seeking a Superstar Controller who will be a critical partner in achieving this growth by bringing financial expertise, operational insight, and strategic guidance to our client's team.


The Controller will oversee the company’s financial operations, managing all accounting functions and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting. As an expert in accounting and financial strategy, this individual will provide actionable insights, forecasts, and recommendations to support key business decisions. They will work closely with ownership to develop and implement financial strategies that drive growth, optimize resources, and improve cost efficiencies. The ideal candidate combines deep accounting expertise with the ability to interpret financial data and translate it into clear, impactful guidance. This role is critical in shaping the company’s financial future and achieving its ambitious growth goals in a high-volume production environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Accounting & Financial Management
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting in QuickBooks Online.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP standards and ensure proper internal controls are in place.
  • Implement cost-accounting practices to ensure accurate product costing, inventory control, and margin analysis.
  • Provide financial insights to optimize operational processes, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital requirements to support day-to-day operations.
  • Develop/Monitor KPIs that align with strategic objectives
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Prepare and interpret monthly financial statements, KPIs, and forecasts.
  • Analyze trends, costs, revenues, and financial risks to provide actionable insights to the owners.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes to align with strategic goals.
  • Payroll & Tax Compliance
  • Oversee payroll operations and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.
  • Manage relationships with external accountants and auditors for tax filings and financial reviews.
  • Strategic Guidance
  • Collaborate with ownership to develop financial strategies that support growth and profitability.
  • Present financial insights and opportunities for improvement in layman’s terms, empowering the owners to make data-driven decisions.
  • Advise on cost-saving measures, operational efficiencies, and investment opportunities to achieve revenue growth goals.
  • Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team as the company scales.
  • Implement and improve financial systems, processes, and reporting tools to support a $25MM operation.
  • Drive financial transparency across the organization, fostering a culture of accountability.


Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, with a minimum of 5 years in a Controller, Director of Finance, or CFO role.
  • Strong background in cost accounting, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in financial software systems; experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing process improvements.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling operations and driving financial performance in a growth-focused environment.
