This is a Hybrid position working from home 2 days a week. An ideal candidate would be located within the greater Raleigh or Charlotte, NC area.
Position Purpose:
The purpose of this Area Operations Manager position is to provide excellent operational oversight and manage business performance of multiple veterinary hospitals within their assigned market (Boston/Rhode Island). The Area Operations Manager will drive revenue and manage costs while ensuring our Petco full-service Vetco Total Care provide excellent patient care and client service. The Area Operations Manager is responsible, like all team members, for fostering cohesion and motivation within the team, and driving successful business outcomes.

Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:
Manage operational oversight of multiple hospitals within assigned market
Manage overall business development, performance, and revenue
Ensure adherence to hospital budgets
Provide excellent client service and follow up and resolve any concerns
Oversee payroll approval process for hospitals including relief staff
Partner with Petco Veterinary Services to relay and implement new initiatives and training to hospital partners
Partner with the Hospital Managers to manage appropriate product inventory and perform periodic auditing for hospital locations
Support talent development of the Hospital Managers, Veterinarian Technicians and Concierges during the review process including creation of individual development plans
In partnership with Talent Acquisition, assist with the hiring, staffing, and training of hospital clinic staff

Nature of Supervision:
The incumbent reports to the Director of Veterinary Hospital Operations
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has immediate daily supervisory duties over the Hospital Office Managers in assigned market.
Work Environment:
The majority of job duties are to be conducted inside assigned Veterinary Hospitals.
Contacts:
This position will regularly communicate with clients, veterinary specialists, and companies that provide products and/or services that the practice utilizes.
Education/Experience:
Completed Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
Must have at least 3 years previous experience working in hospital management-type role within the veterinary or human medical field
Must have ability to travel locally within assigned market (approx. 50%)
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have excellent telephone and computer skills
Must be a team player willing to learn, offer creative ideas, and accept change
Preferred: Experience managing multiple sites
