Job description

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in Insurance Technology, is currently searching for a highly motivated, skilled, and experienced Technical Product Manager (Data Lake, GCP, BigQuery) with a deep technical understanding of Data Lake, Google Cloud, BigQuery, and Cloud solutions. This role requires a candidate who can seamlessly bridge technical expertise with strategic Product Management. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing Cloud-Based Data Solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product strategy and execution.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in data architectures, possess strong hands-on technical skills, and be adept at guiding product decisions that align with both business goals and technical requirements. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud and data technologies and collaborate with other Cloud Platforms like AWS and Azure.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the product roadmap and strategy for Data Lake and Google Cloud solutions, with a focus on BigQuery integration.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, and operations teams to design scalable, high-performance data architectures.
  • Define and prioritize product features, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives and market needs.
  • Conduct market research and work closely with customers to identify pain points and opportunities in data management.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and stakeholders, translating complex technical challenges into actionable business insights.
  • Drive the product development lifecycle, from ideation through deployment, for cloud-based data solutions.
  • Maintain and improve product documentation, user stories, and technical specifications.


What You’ll Need To Succeed

We’re looking for someone who

  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office
  • Ability to travel


Your experience should include some or all of the following

  • Proven experience with Google Cloud technologies, especially BigQuery and Data Lake Architectures.
  • Strong technical background, with hands-on experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Database Management, and Data Modeling.
  • Ability to balance technical requirements with business priorities and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success in launching and managing large-scale Data Products.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Data Analytics, Information Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines

Additionally, you may have

  • Expertise in SQL, Python, or similar programming languages for querying and analyzing large datasets.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Security practices and Regulatory Compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Experience with other Cloud Platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence or similar project management tools
  • Insurance industry exposure
