Preferred by Nature is seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant to lead and expand our agricultural initiatives in Hungary. This role involves managing a growing projects aimed at promoting regenerative agriculture, improving soil health and reducing carbon emissions at farm level.
What can you expect:
As a Senior Consultant, you will build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and overseen the delivering impactful project results. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Project Leadership and Development
- Drive project development, build strategic partnerships, and engage stakeholders to ensure alignment with sustainability objectives;
- Lead the identification and engagement of new funding opportunities and project partners;
- Provide expert input to shape project strategies, aligning them with Preferred by Nature sustainability priorities.
2. Project Implementation and Oversight
- Coordinate and supervise the implementation of regenerative agriculture interventions in collaboration with the project team;
- Monitor project progress at farm level, ensuring high-quality data collection and reporting to demand-side partners;
- Oversee the development and execution of Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) strategies in collaboration with partners;
- Facilitate knowledge exchange by identifying lessons learned and integrating them into project improvements;
- Ensure smooth communication between project stakeholders and compliance with contractual obligations.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Represent Preferred by Nature in meetings with stakeholders to refine interventions and establish strategic collaborations.
- Foster long-term relationships with partners and stakeholders, acting as a key liaison for the organization in Hungary.
- Participate in training sessions, external communications, and organizational initiatives to strengthen collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
4. Field Support and Evaluation
- Conduct periodic field visits to assess progress, address challenges, and ensure effective project implementation;
- Provide hands-on technical and management support to project teams and partners in the field.
5. Organizational Alignment
Collaborate with the global Preferred by Nature team to align local activities with global organizational priorities.
Area of work: This role is primarily remote, with periodic on-site visits to farms or meeting in Budapest or in Western Transdanubia and adjacent regions.
Job Type: Consultancy work of approximately 100 to 120 hours per month, with the flexibility to increase hours based on workload requirements.
Contract Duration : One year, (can be renewal, based on performance and project requirements)
Important that you have:
- Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Environmental Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Agro-industries, or a related field in the agricultural and/or environmental sectors.
- Proven experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, or coordination at the international level.
- Demonstrated expertise in regenerative agriculture or a strong willingness to learn and adapt in this field.
- Strong understanding of sustainability concepts, with an emphasis on soil health and carbon farming practices;
- Familiarity with MRV processes is highly desirable;
- Ability to provide strategic and technical oversight in project planning and execution.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including farmers, project partners, and funding agencies.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Fluency in Hungarian and English (both written and spoken) is required.
- Willingness to travel for field visits and meetings as needed.
