Intro and job overview: 

We are seeking an experienced software sales executive with extensive experience selling into retail companies in Australia.  Experience selling into consumer goods manufacturing and packaged goods industries is a plus.

Based in Australia (preferably Melbourne or Sydney or Brisbane) and reporting directly to the Sales Leader for the Australia & New Zealand region, you will play a critical role in driving the growth of our Data Integrity Software & Data business in the A/NZ Region.  

The successful candidate will display strong entrepreneurial characteristics including good judgment; impeccable business ethics; strategic thinking; drive and energy; and the ability to work autonomously, while communicating effectively and aligning with key stakeholders in the business. You will be responsible for leading the entire sales cycle through to signed contracts, with support from the APAC and global Data Integrity teams.

This is a “roll your sleeves up” role that will require the successful candidate to orchestrate their own regional business, to coordinate multiple resources from internal and external teams (including an extensive network of partners and resellers), to take accountability for successful commercial outcomes, and to participate actively in marketing, business development, and thought leadership activities.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • 70% of your time will be spent with customers, identifying and progressing new sales opportunities that align with Precisely’s Data Integrity strategy. You will be required to be consistent in building customer relationships, uncovering pain points, generating new sales pipeline, closing new business and networking with customers and partner organisations. You will be responsible for direct sales, including net new business as well as growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • 20% of your time will be spent aligning with your colleagues in other Precisely teams such as Pre-Sales Engineering, Product Specialists, and Product Management to engage with customers, meet client requirements, drive brand awareness across your region, and show our differentiation. You will lead the Precisely team’s efforts in your territory to build new pipeline and achieve your sales quota in the Retail, Real Estate, and Consumer Goods Manufacturing verticals.
  • 10% of your time will be spent working with other Precisely sales teams, including renewals, customer success management, and professional services, to collaborate on innovative cross-sell and up-sell opportunities. You will also be expected to provide feedback to Precisely product, development and solution teams on future product requirements and enhancement requests.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Atleast 5 years’ experience selling software solutions
  • Track record of success in high-value enterprise software sales (AUD $1 million+ contract value)
  • Detailed understanding of SaaS, Managed Service and On-Premises applications
  • Understanding of data management
  • In-depth knowledge of the Retail industry vertical and key players in the assigned territory
  • Significant experience working with reseller and channel partners
  • Network of senior-level contacts
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Experience with Command of the Sale, Challenger Sales, Solution Sales, or other consultative sales techniques
  • Take action to learn, teach and support the company’s core values, employment policies, business practices, and programs
  • Build relationships with other departments by understanding position responsibilities and priorities, and demonstrate a positive team approach in day-to-day activities
  • Analyze target markets and put effort into positioning products and effective sales activities
  • Present products and/or solutions engagingly and confidently to individuals and customer groups
  • Approximately 30% overnight travel required. Evening and weekend work, as needed
